The invention is suitable for the field of new energy automobiles, and provides an electric vehicle battery winter temperature control method and system based on braking energy conversion, and the method comprises the following steps: obtaining battery temperature information, and generating a battery heating instruction; brake signal detection is conducted on the automobile, and when the electric vehicle is braked, a control instruction is generated according to a brake feedback signal; a conversion device is started according to the control instruction, the conversion device is used for converting heat energy of braking into electric energy, and the electric energy is stored in a cache battery; and a battery heating device is started according to the battery heating instruction, so that the temperature of the automobile battery rises, and the battery heating device is in electric signal connection with the cache battery. Braking heat energy of a brake can be used for providing electric energy for heating the battery, the efficiency problem of the battery in winter is solved, and the purpose of saving energy can be achieved.
