The invention provides a damping assembly for a compensation chain, a compensation chain guiding device, an elevator and a damping control method for the compensation chain. The damping assembly for the compensation chain comprises a supporting piece, two oppositely-arranged damping sets and an electromagnetic set. The two oppositely-arranged damping sets are movably arranged on the supporting piece. Each damping set is provided with an electromagnetic set, when the electromagnetic sets are powered on, attraction force is generated between the electromagnetic sets located on the two oppositely-arranged damping sets, the two oppositely-arranged damping sets are driven to move in the direction close to each other, and therefore the compensation chain is clamped. By electrifying the electromagnetic sets, attraction force can be generated between the two oppositely-arranged electromagnetic sets, and the attraction force can drive the two damping sets to move in the direction close to each other so as to clamp the compensation chain, so that car shaking caused by movement of the compensation chain is reduced.
