The method is used for carrying out thermal runaway early warning on a battery module provided with a temperature detection point and a pressure detection point, and comprises the following steps: acquiring a temperature value detected by the temperature detection point corresponding to a to-be-detected battery of the battery module, pressure values detected by a plurality of pressure detection points, and the sum of the pressure values detected by the pressure detection points; acquiring a temperature change rate and a plurality of first pressure change rates of each pressure detection point; acquiring a second pressure change rate of the sum of the pressure values detected by the pressure detection points; determining a target early warning level according to the parameters and thermal runaway risk early warning conditions corresponding to multi-level early warning; and when the target early warning level is any one of multi-level alarms, early warning is performed according to the thermal runaway risk reminding information corresponding to the target early warning level, so that early warning diversity and early warning accuracy are improved.
