The invention provides a positive pole piece and a preparation method and application thereof.The positive pole piece comprises a current collector, the surfaces of the two sides of the current collector are each provided with at least two positive pole coatings, materials of each positive pole coating comprise nickel cobalt lithium manganate and two kinds of lithium manganese iron phosphate with different particle sizes, and the lithium manganese iron phosphate with different particle sizes is formed in the direction away from the current collector. The surface density of the positive electrode coating is sequentially decreased, the mass ratio of nickel cobalt lithium manganate to lithium manganese iron phosphate in the material of the positive electrode coating is sequentially increased, and the mass ratio of large-particle-size lithium manganese iron phosphate to small-particle-size lithium manganese iron phosphate is sequentially decreased; through the special limitation, the positive pole piece has relatively high compaction density and relatively low porosity, and the problem that manganese is dissolved out to an electrolyte and a negative pole is also effectively relieved, so that the further prepared lithium ion battery can have excellent cycle performance, rate capability and safety performance at the same time.
