The invention provides a vehicle control method and a vehicle control unit. The vehicle control method includes an evaluation process including performing one or more wear detections on at least one tire of a vehicle and determining whether a wear level of the at least one tire is a first level or a second level that is more serious than the first level based on detection results of the one or more wear detections. The vehicle control method further comprises an adjusting process, and the adjusting process comprises the step that when it is judged that the abrasion grade is the second grade, parameter setting of a vehicle system is adjusted, and the vehicle system comprises one or more of the following items: an anti-lock braking system, a traction force control system, a vehicle dynamic control system and an automatic emergency braking system.
