An airfoil having a flexible trailing edge. An aircraft control surface includes a spar extending in a spanwise direction, the spar having at least one aperture. A displacement guide is adjacent the aperture. An airfoil extending in a spanwise direction is mounted to the spar and extends in a chordwise direction between a leading edge and a trailing edge. A top skin of the elastically deformable airfoil is mounted to the spar via a leaf spring. The top skin is bendable relative to the spar and extends in a chordwise direction from the spar to a top skin trailing edge. A bottom skin of the elastically deformable airfoil is disposed below the top skin. A portion of the bottom skin is displaceable through the aperture in a chordwise direction and is guidable through the aperture by a displacement guide. The bottom skin extends chordwise from the spar to a bottom skin trailing edge bonded to the top skin trailing edge to form an airfoil trailing edge. An actuator is connected to the bottom skin and is configured to displace the bottom skin in a chordwise direction, thereby displacing the trailing edge.
