The invention relates to the technical field of intelligent parking, and provides a parking abnormity monitoring method and system based on parking character monitoring. The method comprises the following steps: determining a target parking area according to parking characters; dividing the target parking area according to parking characters to obtain parking classification areas; carrying out information collection on the target parking area through an information collection front end, and obtaining an information set of the target parking area; comparing the information set of the target parking area with the parking classification area to obtain parking abnormity information; and feeding back the abnormal parking information to a traffic system for processing. The technical problems that in the prior art, parking abnormity monitoring consumes manpower, and the parking abnormity processing efficiency is low are solved, and the technical effects that the parking abnormity processing efficiency is improved, and manpower and material resources are saved are achieved.
