A visual guidance system and method for an aircraft. Systems and methods are described that can be used to provide equivalent visual operation (EVO) for crew crew of an aircraft by using synthetic vision (SV) and enhanced vision (EV) techniques independent of actual external weather and visibility conditions. The systems and methods described herein facilitate obtaining operational credits that can extend operational capabilities of an aircraft. The systems and methods described herein can provide a relatively simple and intuitive solution for activating and operating such systems.
