A brake pedal device mounted on a vehicle is provided with: a pedal pad (40) that rotates about a predetermined axial center (CL) by being stepped on by a driver; and a reaction force generation mechanism (30) that generates a reaction force to the pedal pad in accordance with the amount of depression of the pedal pad. The pedal pad is provided with: a pedal base (410) extending from one end of the axis to the other end thereof so as to be away from the axis; and a pedal operation part (420) which is installed on the pedal base part and is treaded by a driver. The pedal operation part protrudes to the pedal return side in the rotation direction with the axis as the center relative to the pedal base part, the surface of the pedal operation part is provided with plane parts (421a, 421f) which are formed by planes and are treaded by a driver, and reaction force (Fr) generated by the reaction force generation mechanism acts on the pedal pad in the direction penetrating through the plane parts.
