The invention discloses an air-drop landing buffer device and an air-drop method. The air-drop landing buffer device comprises an upper tray used for fixing an air-drop object, a guide rod vertically connected to the lower portion of the upper tray, and a self-balancing mechanism connected to the lower portion of the guide rod and capable of being automatically adjusted to enable the upper tray to be kept horizontal. The self-balancing mechanism comprises a balancing tray fixedly connected with the guide rods, and a plurality of vertically-arranged energy absorption round pipes are connected between the balancing tray and the upper tray. The method is carried out through the device.
