A shift control method of a hybrid system includes: a neutral step in which a transmission is controlled to be in a neutral state after a clutch is disengaged and torque of a motor is reduced to zero; a speed control step in which, after the transmission is in the neutral state, the clutch is controlled to engage, and the torque of the motor is controlled to synchronize the speed of the motor and the speed of the engine and approach a target speed; and a gear engaging step in which, after the speed of the motor and the speed of the engine are substantially the same as the target speed, the transmission is controlled so that the transmission completes gear engaging to the target gear. According to the gear shifting control method, the gear shifting time is greatly shortened, and therefore the adverse effects on the acceleration performance, the charging efficiency and the driving performance of the vehicle due to the fact that the gear shifting time is too long are reduced or even eliminated. The invention further provides a hybrid power system adopting the gear shifting control method.
