The invention provides an abdominal wheel type quadruped robot which comprises a body, leg assemblies and a wheel assembly, the number of the leg assemblies is four, two of the leg assemblies are symmetrically installed on the left side wall and the right side wall of the front end of the body, and the other two leg assemblies are symmetrically installed on the left side wall and the right side wall of the rear end of the body; the leg assembly is installed on the lower surface of the body, the wheel type assembly is installed on the lower surface of the body, the quadruped robot can conduct foot type movement through the leg assembly, and after the leg assembly is lifted, the quadruped robot can conduct wheel type movement through the wheel type assembly. The quadruped robot can be switched between a foot type movement posture and a wheel type movement posture, the quadruped robot is switched to the wheel type movement posture when the quadruped robot is in a flat terrain, and therefore the quadruped robot can pass through the flat terrain at a high speed, and meanwhile energy consumption can be reduced to a certain degree. And when the robot meets a complex terrain, the robot is switched to a foot type motion posture, so that the robot can better pass through the complex terrain.
