The invention relates to the technical field of operating machinery, and provides a brake system and operating machinery, the brake system comprises a first brake cylinder, a second brake cylinder and a communicating pipe, the first brake cylinder is used for braking a first wheel of an axle of the operating machinery, and the second brake cylinder is used for braking a second wheel of the axle; the first end of the communicating pipe is connected with the first brake cylinder, the second end of the communicating pipe is connected with the second brake cylinder, and when the first brake cylinder and the second brake cylinder are in a non-brake state, the communicating pipe is in a cut-off state; and when the first brake cylinder and the second brake cylinder are in a braking state, the communicating pipe is communicated with the rod cavity of the first brake cylinder and the rod cavity of the second brake cylinder, or the communicating pipe is communicated with the rodless cavity of the first brake cylinder and the rodless cavity of the second brake cylinder. When bilateral braking is achieved, it can be guaranteed that no pressure difference exists between the first brake cylinder and the second brake cylinder, and therefore it is guaranteed that no difference exists between the speed of the first wheel and the speed of the second wheel, and straight running of the whole operation machine is guaranteed.
