The method comprises the steps that an SOC balance point added value is determined according to environmental parameters; determining a new SOC balance point according to the driver demand and the SOC balance point added value; based on the new SOC balance point, establishing a power generation priority area upper limit table; determining a forced power generation area upper limit and a power generation priority area lower limit according to the SOC balance point added value; determining a power generation priority area upper limit and a balance area lower limit according to a new SOC balance point and the power generation priority area upper limit table; determining a balance area upper limit according to the new SOC balance point; and determining a power utilization priority area lower limit according to the balance area lower limit. According to the intelligent power protection control method for the new energy automobile, on the basis that the hardware structure of the automobile is not changed, the SOC partition control strategy is optimized, SOC partitions can be intelligently adjusted based on the environment and driver requirements, and intelligent power protection of the whole automobile is facilitated.
