One or more embodiments herein can identify an unobstructed area around an object. An example system can include a memory storing computer-executable components, where the computer-executable components can include a fetch component and a generation component, and a processor executing the computer-executable components stored in the memory, an acquisition section acquires raw data defining a physical state of an environment surrounding the object from a favorable position of the object, and a generation section generates, based on the raw data, a size of a part or more of a virtual polygon representing a boundary with respect to the object, where the boundary defines a free space with respect to the object. The sensing subsystem can include both an ultrasonic sensor and a camera that can sense an environment with respect to the object, respectively, from a favorable position of the object, thereby generating a respective set of polygon measurements.
