The invention relates to a train approaching early warning method. The method comprises the following steps that a circular signboard image is collected and preprocessed; performing unique setting circle Hough transform to obtain the circle center and the radius of the circular region of the signboard, and calibrating the color gamut of the circular region; calculating the real color gamut of the circular area of the signboard, and judging the approaching direction of the train.
