The elevator comprises a lift car, a car door sill and a landing door sill, the car door sill is arranged on one side of the lift car, a gap exists between the car door sill and the landing door sill, a fixing plate is arranged on one side of the lift car, a transverse moving rod is arranged on the fixing plate in a sliding mode, a pedal is arranged on the transverse moving rod, and the pedal is in abutting lap joint with the car door sill and the landing door sill. When the lift car runs, the rotating rod is driven to rotate through the driving part, kinetic energy of rotation of the rotating rod is stored through the power part, when the lift car stops running, the stored kinetic energy is transmitted to the rotating shaft through the power part and drives the rotating shaft to rotate, the shaft rod is driven to intermittently rotate through the transmission part, and the transverse moving rod is driven to slide in the horizontal direction through the driving part; the pedal is driven to move together until the pedal abuts against and is in lap joint with the landing door sill, the phenomenon that sundries fall into a hoistway from a gap, and consequently equipment is damaged is avoided, and potential safety hazards caused by the gap are eliminated.
