The invention discloses an electric vehicle and an electricity taking device and method thereof, and the electricity taking device comprises a pantograph which is used for making contact with or being separated from a power grid contact line, and the pantograph is electrically connected to a power system and/or a battery pack of the electric vehicle through a frequency converter; the monitoring unit is used for monitoring electricity taking parameters of the pantograph and the power system and/or the battery pack in the contact state of the pantograph and the power grid contact line, and the electricity taking parameters are at least one of the electric quantity, the current, the voltage, the temperature and the charging duration; and the control unit communicates with the monitoring unit so as to control whether the electric vehicle takes electricity from the power grid contact line or not according to the electricity taking parameters monitored by the monitoring unit. Whether the electric vehicle takes electricity from the power grid contact line or not is controlled by monitoring the electricity taking parameters, and therefore a reliable electricity taking scheme is provided.
