A fixed-wing combat aircraft (10) includes a power source (20), a propulsion system (30), a low-power non-propulsion assembly (40) including a flight control system, a high-power non-propulsion assembly (50) including an electrical weapon system (52), and a management unit (60) configured to selectively establish a plurality of modes of operation according to instructions, the plurality of modes of operation including: a flight mode, a high-power mode, and a low-power mode. The management unit comprises a flight mode in which the management unit distributes electrical power supplied by the power source to the propulsion system and the low-power non-propulsion component, and an attack mode in which the management unit limits the electrical power supplied by the power source to the propulsion system and the low-power non-propulsion component to the power required to enable the aircraft to glide, and retaining a majority of the available electrical power to the high-power non-propulsion component.
