The present invention relates to a method of classifying driving behavior of a traffic participant in the surroundings of a host vehicle, comprising receiving trajectory data of a driving trajectory of a traffic participant in the surroundings of the host vehicle, comprising position information of the driving trajectory; calculating the hidden space representation of the driving track in the hidden space, wherein the hidden space representation of the driving track is given by the dimension reduction representation of the track data; calculating the distance between the hidden space representation of the driving track and the hidden space representation of the normal track in the hidden space, wherein the normal track is classified as the driving track based on the normal driving behavior; and classifying the driving behavior as a normal driving behavior if the distance between the hidden space representation of the driving trajectory and the hidden space representation of the normal trajectory in the hidden space is lower than a boundary value; if the distance between the hidden space representation of the driving track and the hidden space representation of the normal track in the hidden space exceeds a boundary value, classifying the driving behavior as an abnormal driving behavior; and outputting the classification information. The invention also relates to a method of controlling a vehicle.
