Provided is an occupant protection device capable of smoothly inflating an airbag even if a secondary collision occurs when an impact force from a side is applied or after the impact force is applied. An occupant protection device (S) is provided with: an airbag (45) which is configured so as to protect an occupant seated on a seat and which is held by a holding belt portion wound around the waist of the occupant; and an inflator (20). The inflator is provided with: an inflator main body (21) attached to a region on the lower side of the rear surface of the seat section of the seat; and a connection pipe section (25) that is disposed in a region on the side of the seat section and connects the inflator main body and the airbag. The connecting pipe part is provided with a cover part (35) which covers at least the side of the area arranged at the side of the seat part. The cover portion is formed of a rigid material, has a cover main body (36) covering a side of the connecting pipe portion, and is held on a seat frame (4) side.
