The present disclosure provides a drive system for a four-wheel drive vehicle capable of suppressing the behavior of the vehicle from becoming unstable when the motor-type four-wheel drive vehicle is decelerated. A drive system for an electric motor type four-wheel drive vehicle having a friction brake system includes: a first electric motor and a second electric motor; a transmission shaft; a first differential mechanism connected to the first motor and distributing an output torque of the first motor to a left wheel on one side of the front wheel side or the rear wheel side and to the other side of the front wheel side or the rear wheel side; a second differential mechanism which is connected to the second motor and distributes the output torque of the second motor to the right wheel on one side of the front wheel side or the rear wheel side and the other side of the front wheel side or the rear wheel side; and a control device that controls regenerative braking force generated by regeneration of the first motor and the second motor and friction braking force generated by the friction braking system, in which the first differential mechanism and the second differential mechanism are each provided so that the distribution ratio of the output torque to the front wheel side is 50% or more.
