The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle monitoring, in particular to a vehicle power shortage control method and device, and the method comprises the steps: detecting whether the first residual electric quantity of a low-voltage battery is smaller than a preset threshold value or not; if the first residual electric quantity is smaller than the preset threshold value, a switch for controlling a charging and discharging loop of the low-voltage battery is switched off, so that the low-voltage battery enters a power locking state, and power supply is stopped; and detecting second residual electric quantity of the low-voltage battery in the power locking state, controlling the low-voltage battery to exit the power locking state when detecting that the second residual electric quantity is greater than or equal to a preset threshold value, and closing a switch for controlling a charge-discharge loop of the low-voltage battery. Therefore, the problems that in the prior art, the electricity shortage phenomenon of the vehicle is analyzed according to the vehicle controller and the electricity load, the electricity shortage problem cannot be found and solved in time in the electricity shortage process, the real-time performance of electricity shortage detection is reduced, the intelligent level of the vehicle is reduced, and the driving requirement of a user cannot be met are solved.
