According to one aspect, there is provided a computer-implemented method comprising: executing a user application associated with a personnel transportation system, the user application associated with personnel transportation enabling use of a plurality of modes of operation; obtaining a trigger event associated with the personnel transportation system; obtaining profile information associated with a user using a user application associated with the personnel transportation system; and allowing to use a particular application mode among the plurality of application modes based on the trigger event and the profile information.
