Embodiments of a method of positioning a rail-mounted vehicle are disclosed. In one embodiment, a communication signal is transmitted to a roadside communication device. A distance estimate is obtained based on the communication signal. The radar signal is transmitted to the at least one reflector. The accuracy of distance estimation is improved based on radar signals.
