The invention discloses an elevator parallel hot standby double-loop speed control system and method. The elevator parallel hot standby double-loop speed control system comprises a detection feedback device, a hydraulic system and an electrical control device. The two brake speed control loops are arranged, the isolating valves are arranged between the proportional directional valves and the brakes of the two brake speed control loops, when a fault occurs, the isolating valves execute the power-off action, the loops can be automatically cut off, the fault loop is physically isolated from the main loop, and the influence on the normal working loop of the brake system is avoided; the two brake speed control loops can be switched and selected to work simultaneously or one brake speed control loop is used and the other brake speed control loop is standby through the electrical control device, so that multiple working modes are realized; the four one-way valves form a hydraulic bridge circuit, it can be guaranteed that when any energy accumulator is damaged and loses pressure, the system automatically shields the faulted energy accumulator, the other energy accumulator with the normal function works, safe and stable braking is achieved, and high reliability of the braking process is guaranteed.
