The invention provides a distance detection unit and track detection equipment, and the distance detection unit comprises a connecting assembly which comprises a supporting frame and a spring; the odometer wheel comprises a rotating shaft rotationally connected to the supporting frame and an odometer wheel body fixedly connected to the rotating shaft; the distance detection encoder is rotationally connected with the rotating shaft, the supporting frame is movably connected with the mounting frame, the two ends of the spring abut against the mounting frame and the supporting frame respectively, and the odometer wheel body abuts against a steel rail under the action of the spring and rolls along the steel rail when the mounting frame moves. The track detection equipment comprises a mounting frame, a track detection unit, at least four bearing wheels and at least two distance detection units. The distance detection unit and the bearing wheel are arranged separately, so that inaccurate distance measurement caused by suspension of the bearing wheel is avoided. And the odometer wheel is kept in contact with the track in the advancing process, so that the moving distance detected by the distance detection encoder is more accurate, and the profile detection precision is also guaranteed.
