The invention provides a mobile charging vehicle and a working method thereof. According to the scheme, the mobile charging vehicle comprises a charging vehicle body, a charging mechanism, a photovoltaic module, a first energy storage module and a second energy storage module; the charging mechanism is arranged in a charging box body of the charging vehicle main body, and the photovoltaic module is arranged at the top of the charging vehicle main body; the charging mechanism is connected with the first energy storage module, the first energy storage module is used for charging the vehicle body and directly consuming electric energy in the charging process, and the first energy storage module is connected with the photovoltaic module; the second energy storage module is connected with the first energy storage module and the photovoltaic module. The first energy storage module, the second energy storage module and the photovoltaic module are respectively connected with an external power grid, and participate in peak regulation of the power grid according to a preset control strategy; the charging mechanism is used for charging an external vehicle.
