The invention relates to the field of underwater flaw detection, and discloses an underwater flaw detection device and a balancing protection mechanism thereof.The underwater flaw detection device comprises a radar body, the radar body is installed in a cabin body, the balancing protection mechanism is installed on the outer side of the cabin body to balance the cabin body and the radar body, and a connecting mechanism is further installed at the bottom of the cabin body. The connecting mechanism is used for connecting the cabin body with the underwater ground; according to the invention, the radar body is installed in the cabin, so that the radar can perform flaw detection on the underwater dam body part, thereby timely discovering whether the underwater dam body has cracks or not, and facilitating early warning and processing work before serious accidents of the dam body in the later period; meanwhile, through the connecting mechanism arranged at the bottom, the cabin body is connected with the underwater ground in case of underwater undercurrent or other fluctuations, so that the situation that the cabin body, namely the underwater flaw detection device, is taken away and the underwater flaw detection action is influenced is prevented.
