The invention discloses a tire for a heavy engineering vehicle and a preparation method of the tire, and belongs to the technical field of tires. A preparation method of a tire for a heavy engineering vehicle comprises the following steps: (1) pretreating glass fibers, and stirring and mixing the glass fibers with thermoplastic resin at 200-340 DEG C for 5-30 minutes to obtain a belted layer; (2) uniformly mixing natural rubber, isoprene rubber, acrylate rubber, carbon black, modified nano zirconium oxide, polystyrene resin, alkyd resin and an auxiliary agent to obtain a composite rubber material; and (3) uniformly distributing the belted layer in the step (1) on the surface of a tire crown, carrying out curing treatment at 80-180 DEG C for 20-45 minutes, then coating the tire crown with the composite rubber material in the step (2), and carrying out molding, vulcanization and finishing to obtain a finished product. The tire has the characteristics of high bearing capacity and light weight, has excellent wear resistance, cutting resistance and good durability, and meets the requirements of tires for heavy engineering vehicles.
