The battery management method comprises the following steps: acquiring the cycle index of a rechargeable battery, wherein the rechargeable battery is used for supplying power to an unmanned aerial vehicle; when the cycle index is greater than or equal to a preset first threshold value, generating a first limiting signal; wherein the first limiting signal is used for limiting the motor output power of the unmanned aerial vehicle in the flight process, so that the motor output power is smaller than a preset power threshold value. According to the battery management method, under the condition that the rechargeable battery has a considerable aging degree, the working condition that the rechargeable battery has a relatively large discharge current is avoided by limiting the output power of the motor, so that the use safety of the rechargeable battery is ensured while the unmanned aerial vehicle can be used for flying.
