The invention relates to a vehicle following distance control method and device, electronic equipment and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the maximum speed limit of a current driving road of a vehicle, and determining a first safe vehicle following distance under the maximum speed limit according to the maximum speed limit; the current vehicle speed of the vehicle is obtained, and a second safe vehicle following distance is determined according to the current vehicle speed; acquiring the current visibility of the current driving road of the vehicle; and determining a target car following distance according to the first safe car following distance, the second safe car following distance and the current visibility. According to the invention, the following distance of the vehicle can be flexibly adjusted based on multi-dimensional information.
