The invention relates to a liquid crystal rearview mirror which comprises a liquid crystal box, a first polaroid and a reflecting layer, the liquid crystal box comprises a first glass substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a second glass substrate, and the liquid crystal layer is a negative liquid crystal layer which is vertically aligned in a natural state; a first transparent electrode is arranged on the first glass substrate, and a second transparent electrode is arranged on the second glass substrate; the first glass substrate and the second glass substrate are coated with vertical alignment layers; the first polaroid is arranged on the first glass substrate; the reflecting layer is attached to the front side surface or the rear side surface of the second glass substrate; directional friction is applied to the vertical alignment layer, so that the arrangement of negative liquid crystal molecules has an initial pretilt angle not larger than 5 degrees; and when the liquid crystal box is in an ON state, the negative liquid crystal molecules deflect along the directional friction direction, so that the optical path difference generated by the liquid crystal layer in the light control area reaches lambda/4. The structure can be simplified, a polaroid is omitted, the reflection rate is high, and mirror image deformation and other problems are not prone to occurring in formed reflection.

    本发明涉及一种液晶后视镜,包括液晶盒、第一偏光片和反射层,液晶盒包括第一玻璃基板、液晶层和第二玻璃基板,液晶层为在自然状态下呈垂直配向的负性液晶层;第一玻璃基板上设有第一透明电极,第二玻璃基板上设有第二透明电极;第一玻璃基板、第二玻璃基板上均涂有垂直配向层;第一偏光片设在第一玻璃基板上;反射层附着在第二玻璃基板的前侧面或后侧面上;通过对垂直配向层施加定向摩擦,使得负性液晶分子的排列存在一不大于5°的初始预倾角;当液晶盒处在ON态时负性液晶分子沿定向摩擦的方向偏转,使控光区液晶层产生的光程差达到λ/4。本发明不仅能够简化结构,省去偏光片,而且具有较高的反射率,并且所形成的反射不易出现镜像变形等问题。
