A light ultrathin resin matrix composite air rudder belongs to the technical field of aircrafts and comprises a rudder framework and a skin. The rudder skeleton comprises an inserting area and grid ribs; the grid ribs comprise two types, one type is radial grid ribs which extend to the edges of the control surfaces from the inserting area, and the other type is transverse grid ribs which are connected between the control surfaces; and the skin covers the rudder skeleton, adopts a variable thickness design and is used for providing the rigidity of the rudder surface. According to the air rudder, the drag reduction target is achieved, the rudder surface of the air rudder is thinned so as to increase the design space for heat protection, a high-temperature-resistant and high-rigidity resin matrix composite material is adopted as a main force bearing structure of the rudder surface, and the requirements for heat protection and bearing capacity are met.
