The invention discloses an unmanned sailboat towing energy storage barge system and a control method thereof.The unmanned sailboat towing energy storage barge system comprises a front-driving sailboat, a double-connecting-rod mechanism and a rear-driving barge which are sequentially connected; the front-drive sailing boat comprises a first boat body, a sail body, a sail body controller, a first tail vane, a tail vane controller, a wind speed and direction sensor, an inertia measurement unit, a positioning module, a control module and a first power source. The rear towing barge comprises a second barge body and a second power supply; the double-connecting-rod structure comprises a front connecting rod, a tension sensor and a rear connecting rod which are connected in sequence. In the face of a long-distance task, the double-connecting-rod structure and the rear towing barge are connected to the rear portion of the front-driving sailing boat, and a second power source in the rear towing barge is used for assisting in power supply, so that it is ensured that the long-distance task is completed. As the rear towing barge has enough space for loading the second power supply with higher energy, long-distance sailing is ensured, and the cruising ability of the unmanned sailing boat is improved.
