The present disclosure provides "motorized vehicle charging performance". An electrically powered vehicle includes a controller in communication with an on-board charger configured to charge a traction battery from an external power source, the traction battery configured to power an electric machine, the electric machine providing a propulsion torque to a wheel, and a controller in communication with the on-board charger. The controller is programmed to generate an alert message that identifies an alternative external power source that will reduce a difference when (a) the difference between the power requested by the controller and (b) the power currently delivered by the external power source exceeds a configurable threshold.
