The present invention relates to a heavy vehicle tire tread and is intended to improve the tear resistance of inclined sipes occurring in the outer cavity thereof. The tread (1) comprises at least one substantially longitudinal cut-out (3) comprising at least one outer cavity (6) leading to the tread surface (2) along an appearing portion (7) having a closed profile (8). Each outer cavity (6) is connected to two substantially longitudinal sipes (91) and at least one inclined sipe (92), the average trace (M2) of which intersects the profile (8) at a connection point (I). According to the invention, the average trace (M2) of each inclined sipe (92) forms an angle (A1, A2) strictly greater than 90 DEG with at least two straight lines (T1, T2) that are tangent to the contour (8) respectively at two points (I1, I2) of the contour (8), said two points (I1, I2) being located on both sides of the average trace (M2) and the curvilinear distance (d1, d2) from the connecting point (I) being at most equal to 2 mm.
