The embodiment of the invention discloses a hybrid vehicle engine start-stop control method and system. The method is applied to a vehicle control unit and comprises the steps that control parameter information transmitted by at least two controllers in a target vehicle is received; on the basis of the control parameter information, start-stop control conditions of an engine in the target vehicle are determined; and controlling the engine to start and stop according to the at least two start-stop control conditions and the preset start-stop priority level. According to the embodiment of the invention, the start-stop control conditions of the engine in the target vehicle are respectively determined through the control parameter information transmitted by the at least two controllers, and the engine is controlled to start and stop according to the at least two start-stop control conditions and the preset start-stop priority level, so that when to control the start of the engine can be more effectively identified from multiple aspects; reasonable control over starting and stopping of the engine under different conditions is achieved, the stability and reliability of the vehicle in the running process are guaranteed, and therefore better vehicle performance is provided for users.
