The method comprises the steps that the actual electric quantity of the hybrid power vehicle is obtained, and a first actual electric quantity value is obtained; the target balance electric quantity of the hybrid power vehicle is obtained, and a first target balance electric quantity value is obtained; the first actual electric quantity value is compared with a first threshold value, a first comparison result is obtained, and the first threshold value is the sum of the first target balance electric quantity value and a preset deviation value; and adjusting the target balance electric quantity according to the first comparison result. According to the invention, self-adaptive adjustment of electric quantity balance can be realized without user participation, so that the electric quantity balance efficiency can be improved.
