The invention relates to the technical field of image processing, in particular to a traffic jam assessment method and device, electronic equipment and a storage medium. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring an image frame sequence corresponding to a current road, and determining each lane corresponding to the image frame sequence; counting queuing vehicles in each lane from the stop line, and calculating the passing time of a tail vehicle in the queuing vehicles passing through the stop line; calculating a queuing time index corresponding to each lane according to each passing time length and the signal lamp period time length of the current road; and evaluating the congestion condition of the current road according to each queuing time index. Through the method, the traffic jam condition can be judged without acquiring the speed of each vehicle and manual participation, the method is convenient and effective, the time cost and the labor cost are saved, and the evaluation accuracy is improved.
