A tower climbing machine comprises a guide rail frame and a moving trolley, the guide rail frame is fixedly installed on a ladder stand in a tower crane standard section, a thin plate rack is fixedly connected to the guide rail frame, a driving device, a battery system, a control device and a manned pedal are arranged in the moving trolley, and the battery system provides power for the driving device. The driving device can drive the moving trolley to lift up and down along the rack on the guide rail frame, the manned pedal is arranged at the bottom of the moving trolley, and the control device controls the running state of the driving device. The tower climbing machine is arranged on a tower crane standard knot ladder stand and located in a standard knot, and the internal space utilization rate of the tower crane is increased; the thin-plate rack is integrated on the guide rail frame fixed on the ladder stand, the guide rail frame and the thin-plate rack are preassembled along with the standard section, section adding of the tower crane is not affected, then the objective requirement that the height of the tower crane is continuously adjusted and changed according to construction needs is met, cost is low, and installation and fixation are convenient.
