An aircraft includes a first rotor assembly, a second rotor assembly, and a second rotor assembly tower configured to mount the second rotor assembly to a remainder of the aircraft. The first rotor assembly and the second rotor assembly are positioned such that they are spaced apart in a longitudinal direction of the aircraft, and thus the first rotor assembly and the second rotor assembly lie substantially on a vertical plane parallel to a vertical plane aligned with a longitudinal axis of the aircraft. The first rotor assembly includes a tilt rotor configured to tilt between a transformation of a substantially vertical flight thrust and a substantially conventional flight thrust. The second rotor assembly includes a plurality of stacked substantially vertical thrust rotors mounted to the tower so as to be substantially on the same side of the tower.
