For example, the disclosed systems and methods include a restraint system (e.g., a seatbelt (36), a lace, a restraint lever (e.g., a leg lever, a shoulder lever), etc.) that includes a remotely activated and deactivated locking mechanism (14). The remote release locking mechanism (14) includes a redundant latch (84) (e.g., a main latch (84A) and at least one second redundant latch (84B)) and contains a relatively small amount of components housed in a relatively small amount of space.
