The purpose of the present invention is to provide a shock absorber which can use a single bracket without being affected by the difference in the wall thickness of a knuckle bracket. A shock absorber (D) according to the present invention is provided with: a shock absorber main body (1) having a housing (2) and a lever (3) movably inserted into the housing (2); a knuckle bracket (4) attached to the outer periphery of the lower end side of the housing (2); and a bracket (5) having a bent piece (5a) bent in the circumferential direction of the outer periphery of the housing (2) and a mounting piece (5b) extending from the bent piece (5a) and mounting the mounting member, the bent piece (5a) being welded to the outer periphery of the housing (2) in the axial direction of the housing (2) in a range from the upper end to the lower end of the knuckle bracket (4), and the bracket (5) being mounted to the housing (2).
