The invention relates to a tire stud made of a cemented carbide comprising at least 50 wt% WC and a metallic binder in an amount of between 3 wt% and 25 wt%. Wherein the metal binder comprises at least 30 wt% Ni and less than 50 wt% Co. By using the tire stud disclosed by the invention, the pavement wear is reduced.
