The invention discloses a vertical shaft hoisting container replacement device and method, and the device comprises a beam frame, a flat plate transport vehicle capable of autonomously moving on the beam frame, and a pair of folding and unfolding devices which are located in the beam frame and staggered with each other, the tail rope buckle is movably connected with the take-up and pay-off device; and the sunken platform is detachably connected with the beam frame. By means of the vertical shaft hoisting container replacing device, the labor intensity of workers can be relieved.
