The invention relates to a multi-layer exhaust duct (100; 200) and a method for the production thereof. A duct configured to direct a flow of exhaust gas from an aircraft comprises: an inner thermal insulation layer (10) having a tubular surface defining a passage for the exhaust gas, the inner thermal insulation layer comprising at least two edges (10a, 10b) substantially parallel to each other, the at least two edges overlapping or at least partially overlapping along a longitudinal direction of the tubular surface; an outer layer (30) made of a fiber-reinforced composite material; an intermediate adhesive layer (20) positioned between the inner layer (10) and the outer layer (30).
