The invention discloses a distributed model-free adaptive predictive control method for traffic lights at multiple interconnected intersections, belongs to the field of traffic control, and aims to solve the problem that in a large-scale urban traffic network interconnection system, the predictive control of the system is difficult to realize due to the fact that mutual influence in predictive moments is difficult to determine. The method is characterized in that a dynamical model represented by the augmented control input vector is converted into a tight-format model-free adaptive control data model through pseudo gradient, and a model-free adaptive prediction control data model is obtained by embedding a step-ahead rolling frame into the tight-format model-free adaptive control data model. According to the model-free adaptive predictive control data model, the release ratio of M steps of the subsystem is predicted through the re-represented controllable control input, the release time is obtained according to the release ratio, and the effect is traffic release predictive control of the large-scale urban traffic network interconnection system.
