A temperature sensing device for sensing the temperature of an aircraft wheel brake, the temperature sensing device comprising: a surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor element comprising an interdigital transducer comprising electrodes disposed along a surface of a substrate so as to form a periodic structure, the electrodes have a thickness of between 120 nanometers and 190 nanometers in a direction perpendicular to the surface. The invention also discloses a brake disc comprising the temperature sensing device, an aircraft comprising the brake disc, and a method of manufacturing the temperature sensing device.
