The invention discloses a bridge crane operation monitoring method and system, and the method comprises the steps: dividing a bridge crane sliding rail into a plurality of sections, and endowing each section with a corresponding RFID position tag; the setting of the height allowable deviation range and the inclination angle allowable deviation range of the sliding component for each section considers the situation that the historical maximum wind force is applied to the maximum allowable load-carrying container when the sliding component slides in the section i, and considers the maximum allowable inclination angle of the hoisted container when the sliding component slides in the section i. The sliding component identifies a position label value vi corresponding to the section i in the sliding process, a sum corresponding to the vi is matched according to the binding relation, then whether the height deviation value and the inclination angle deviation value, detected in real time, of the sliding component deviating from the initial position both fall into the corresponding sum range or not is judged, if yes, it is judged that the container is hoisted normally in the section i, and if not, it is judged that the container is hoisted normally in the section i; otherwise, abnormity is judged and an alarm is given, so that the safety of bridge crane operation is greatly improved.
